Capital Rocket Team Conducts Successful BOSCOV Static Fire Test at CPL
On July 18th, 2024, the Chemical Propulsion Laboratory (CPL) facilitated a static fire test for the Capital Rocket Team's BOSCOV rocket engine. This test represents a critical milestone in the development of the BOSCOV rocket, validating the performance and safety of the propulsion system prior to launch.
The static fire test was conducted with the BOSCOV engine securely mounted on a horizontal test stand. Upon ignition, comprehensive performance data, including chamber pressure and thrust, was collected using CPL's integrated sensor array. This data will be analyzed to evaluate engine performance and identify any areas requiring further optimization.
This test holds particular significance...

Hello. If you want to use a classical combustion model, you can activate an existing reaction mechanism compatible with Ansys Fluent, such as Gri-Mech 3.0. However, if you would like to implement your own reaction model, you should refer to the manuals for Ansys Chemkin. This is a very specific topic of chemistry simulation, and it is unlikely that I will make a video tutorial about it.

Sir, analyzing the signs at 21:00 of first integral of M' I cannot understand why first term is now positive while in N' was negative (the sign of pressure that create the force remain in negative direction) and second term of first integral remain unchanged because has same signs of A'. For both terms the momentum should be clockwise and positive.

I tried downloading and importing the chemical kinetics and thermodynamics database files provided by, "CRECK' but my Fluent immediately crashed when I hit import. It happened several times and I've no clue about it. I suspect the problem is in the file format, but I tried importing the CRECK mechanism files in .dat format as well, but again my fluent crashed. Hi, very interesting tutorail for a step by step set up of the problem. but I do not understand the result You set fluid as inviscid and therefore the Navier stokes equations should degenerate into the Euler equation. Without viscosity the flow velocity field is irrotational (at least if no vortex are already inside the fluid domain as in this simulation since flow at boundary has only translational component). For irrotational flow it can be demonstrated that forces exerted by fluid on a moving body are zero (both drag and lift). Whicever is the shape of the object (it is the so called D'Alembert paradox) Except the case of vortex generation at the trailing edge of the airfoil. But the simulation apparently do not show any vortex birth at the trailing edge then moving downstream the airfoil . Flow lines are quite straight downstream of the airfoil. How can you justify that ? Is there something I do not catch in the results ?
